The thing that I do that has the most crowd-appeal is paper-cutting, although I am out of practice. I did a piece for telophase a while ago, in honor of something she was working on: see here.
That works pretty well for mythical stuff but might not be so well-suited to, say, manga characters.
And yes, I can do little crafty things ... they tend to be free-flowing rather than precise, though.
I guess I'll look at the pinch hit possibility ... .
Oh, that's really beautiful! I wouldn't mind seeing a cut-paper interpretation of manga, personally, but of course it's your call. Best wishes whichever way it goes--maybe you and vom_marlowe and people can organize a smaller exchange among friends, as suggested, which might be less stressful?
