I think I've seen people make dolls, or do knitting, and it wouldn't surprise me to see someone bake Yuletart cookies some year if it hasn't already been done--I don't know what sorts of things you do craft-wise, but I made a couple of boxes last year for Yuletart (scrapbook materials and paint on top of premade papier-mache boxes from Michael's), and it was not as hard as I had thought it would be. Would something like that relieve some of the stress and make it possible for you to still participate?

Date: 2010-10-14 02:37 am (UTC)The thing that I do that has the most crowd-appeal is paper-cutting, although I am out of practice. I did a piece for telophase a while ago, in honor of something she was working on: see here.
That works pretty well for mythical stuff but might not be so well-suited to, say, manga characters.
And yes, I can do little crafty things ... they tend to be free-flowing rather than precise, though.
I guess I'll look at the pinch hit possibility ... .
